Start with the loading rules

Ask building management where a pickup vehicle may stop, whether a loading bay must be booked and how long a reservation lasts. Record the correct entrance and any vehicle-height limit. Give those details to the provider before collection is arranged.

If curbside loading is the only option, describe the street and ask who handles any required arrangements. Avoid promising a parking space until the relevant property or local requirements have been confirmed.

Connect your unit to the pickup point

List the floor, elevator access, entry steps and long hallways. Check whether moving protection or an elevator reservation is required by the building. Measure bulky furniture against doorways and turns, not only the room it currently occupies.

If a sofa or bed frame must be disassembled, clarify who does that work and whether reassembly at the mainland home is included. Photograph tight access for discussion with the provider.

Name every pickup location

Identify your Oahu neighborhood and any separate storage unit or second collection point. Inventory those goods separately so they are not lost in a bedroom-size estimate. Ask whether all collections belong in one proposal and how changes are handled.

Plan the handoff after collection

Ask who coordinates the next transportation stage and what documentation you will receive at pickup. Review the collection inventory and condition notes, and keep a copy available during your personal travel. Keep keys, identification and everyday essentials outside the packed shipment.

Prepare the mainland receiving side

Choose your destination guide and describe the new home’s access, the earliest receiving date and any temporary housing gap. If you are still looking for a home, share the city or ZIP you expect and explain what is undecided.
